This year’s mawsim will focus on:
Connecting the Dots: Faith in the Unseen and Reliance on Allah
Under the guidance of Shaykh Tamer Degheidy Al-Maliki Al-Qaderi, the Mawsim this year continues our journey of learning and reflection under the theme from Suratul Hajj, verse 28: “To exchange benefits and remember Allah.”
Our focus in 1446 is on “Reliance on Allah” (Tawakkul). By reflecting on the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we aim to truly understand what it means to rely on Allah and the role of the seeker in these turbulent times.
The higher meanings of faith are becoming more difficult to reconcile with today’s modern life and civilizations. Tawakkul is a key aspect of faith for Muslims, but how do we reconcile this with today’s life of planning and monotony, where causality is deeply ingrained in our psyche, and where independence and self-reliance are highly praised? How can we understand and practice Tawakkul in such a context?
In this Mawsim, we turn to our leader and role model, Muhammad (PBUH), for answers. We do so through a lineage of connection to him, not through our confused minds and self-learning. We follow the way he prescribed, learning through a chain of inheritors and teachers, and walking with our Shaykh along that path to comfort our hearts and ease our minds with this jewel of a trait called Tawakkul.

This session will reflect deeply into the core of Tawakkul as a fundamental concept in Islam. Drawing inspiration from the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and rooted in the teachings of the Quran, these sessions will explore the profound implications of placing trust in Allah in all aspects of life. In a world where planning, self-reliance, and causality dominate, Tawakkul serves as a reminder that true peace and security come from faith in the unseen and complete reliance on Allah’s wisdom and mercy. The session will challenge modern understandings of independence by emphasizing that reliance on Allah does not negate effort or planning but rather elevates them to acts of faith.

Profile of Shaykh Tamer Degheidy Al-Maliki Al-Qaderi
Shaykh Dr. Tamer Degheidy is a devoted Muslim physician with a passion for bettering lives. In his academic pursuit, he studied medicine at the distinguished Kasr Al Aini Medical School at Cairo University in Egypt. He later pursued postgraduate studies in genetics, regenerative, and integrative medicine. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in establishing various businesses in the global healthcare sector. Alongside his active medical license and practice, Dr. Tamer is also a renowned public speaker and coach in areas like regenerative medicine, cancer prevention, precision medicine, and alternative medicine techniques. His influence extends to serving on the boards of numerous companies and organizations throughout the Middle East and Africa.
Shaykh Tamer’s spiritual journey began under the guidance of his late mentor, the esteemed Shaykh Hamid Rabbani Siddiqui (RA) in Medina. Shaykh Rabbani, the heir to the spiritual lineage of the revered Mawlana Abdul Akeem Siddiqui Al Qaderi, set Dr. Tamer on a transformative path of knowledge acquisition and soul purification. Throughout his spiritual quest, Shaykh Tamer had the honor of accompanying several eminent teachers of Sharia and Haquiqa (Law and spirituality). These revered scholars granted Shaykh Tamer the permission to educate, guide seekers, and continue their spiritual legacies. Shaykh Dr. Tamer Degheidy Al Qaderi Al Maliki is qualified to instruct the path of purification according to the primary schools of Tasawwuf. Additionally, he is proficient in the Arabic language, various Qira’at (Quranic recitations), and poetry.
In Shaykh Tamer’s own words, his mission is to “help oneself through serving others.” He is deeply committed to the holistic growth of today’s seekers, addressing their spiritual, physical, psychological, and faith-based needs. He perceives the prevailing culture of materialism, technology, and a sedentary lifestyle as posing grave threats to humanity. He emphasizes that all individuals of faith should collaboratively strive to shield the younger generation from the overwhelming tides of modernity, which he believes threaten to erode faiths. Shaykh Tamer posits that Muslims bear significant responsibility in countering these challenges. He envisions true Sufi masters uniting various schools to forge a meaningful path for seekers, advocating for peace, enlightenment, and the rejection of division and historical disagreements. This united front, he believes, is essential to address the monumental challenges of the present era.
